They're still out there! Lovely LAD.

Graham Kircher came across this wonderful Leyland Hippo in early March. Other than the 'cage' (for sugar cane?) she is pretty much a carbon-copy of the trucks my Pop used to run in Tasmania - even down to the colour! I know they're not everyone's favourite trucks but I love 'em.

  1. Sorry Andy, but looking at the badge above the top grille and the rear hubs, I would say that its a later LAD Albion Reiver.
    We had them also in NZ badged Leyland.

  2. LOL, no worries, thanks Mike. I was looking at the badge trying to work out if I was seeing a thistle or not as the Leyland-badged Abions are pretty common here too. Not to worry, Pop also had LAD Reivers so this is still a carbon-copy. Will have to have another look at those hubs though. Didn't pick that.
